We are so thankful for the opportunities we have had as members of the Junction City community. FroYo Junction has been quite an adventure for Kendall and I. Since opening in January 2013, we have been working at perfecting and expanding our offerings, with a huge focus on our community outreach programs.
About a month ago, I was contacted by Kelly Kramer, an ELL teacher at Junction City Middle School, and member of the Renaissance Program Committee. The Renaissance Program has been established to find incentives for students to do well academically, not to be tardy or absent and have good behavior. Every 6 weeks, the students are acknowledged for their success.
Kelly’s concept focused on frozen yogurt from FroYo Junction being the student’s reward for the first 6 week period this school year. Kelly and I worked together to put together three special events. On Friday October 9th, we celebrated the 6th graders; 228 6th graders (75% of the entire class) earned the reward. On Tuesday October 13th, 233 7th graders (80% of the entire class) earned the reward. Last but certainly not least, on Friday October 16th, 224 8th graders (73% of the entire class) earned the reward. The reward we decided on was a 4 ounce cup – FroYo Mini – for each student, with an option of 5 different toppings. In total 629 cups of FroYo were awarded to Middle School Students.
Each day I arrived with the FroYo Mini’s in hand – I was welcomed us with open arms. All of the staff and administration at JCMS was so great to work with throughout this process. The team at FroYo Junction is so happy to have been apart of this reward program. I hope that the students at Junction City Middle School enjoyed their sweet treats, as much as I enjoyed coming to visit and spend time in the school.
Kelly, Thank you for thinking of us!
6th 7th and 8th Graders at JCMS Keep up the Great Work!!
